Connections from FFS Station to City Center:

  • On foot: approx. 10 minutes

  • Funicular "La Sasselina":
    The funicular departs and arrives at Piazza Cioccaro.
    Daily operation from 05:00 to 24:00 (continuous rides, each lasting 92 seconds).
    Ticket cost: CHF 1.30.

  • Taxi service:
    Available at the FFS Station Square.

  • Bus:

How to Reach Us

Lugano is connected to the rest of Europe via the motorway that links Northern Europe to the Mediterranean.

From Zurich:

  • Take the A2 motorway, heading towards San Gottardo-Chiasso-Italy.
  • Recommended exit: Lugano NORD, exit 49 towards Ponte Tresa/Airport (1.4 km).
  • At the junction, follow signs for Lugano, keeping left (120 m).
  • At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit for the Lugano-Centro motorway (1.8 km).
  • Via Bioggio (280 m); Via Besso (1.0 km); Via Romeo Manzoni (260 m).
  • Turn right onto Via Clemente Maraini; turn left onto Via Antonio Adamini and continue to Riva Antonio Caccia until the LAC roundabout.

From Milan:

  • Take the A9 motorway towards Como - San Gottardo, or the A8 motorway towards Varese - Stabio (Gaggiolo).
  • Recommended exit: Lugano SUD, head towards Viale Giuseppe Cattori on the left (1.5 km).
  • Continue along Riva Paradiso (57 m) and Riva Antonio Caccia (600 m) until the LAC roundabout.

Please note that to drive on Swiss motorways, a motorway vignette (toll sticker) is required, which must be placed on your car's windshield (cost CHF 40, valid from January to December). You can purchase it at the border (Gaggiolo - Stabio, Ponte Tresa, Chiasso).
